The gold is heated and stirred.
crucible In order to maintain correct heat, the torch continues to heat the gold until the last second before the pour. Note the mirror-like finish on the molten gold which indicates it's ready to pour.
The completed pour showing the 'button' formed at the top of the ingot. The button is important for back pressure when pouring, so that any porosity will be forced upward and reside in the button and not in the wire below.
The mold is seperated and the ingot removed.
