Engraving a Coat of Arms



At this point I would like to create my own scroll design, but the customer requests that this ring closely match the other three his family members wear, so I draw through a thin film of transfer wax and copy the scrollwork from another ring.
The mantle is cut with various round gravers.
Using transfer wax and clear tape, I mirror the scrollwork to the opposite side.
After cutting the mantle, I gently block sand the ring's face with 1200 grit paper.
The finished coat of arms prints nicely into sealing wax. the end
